Through the events, as many people as possible can get to know how innovative, digital and sustainable smart city solutions have been created in Tampere Region. This free event features science-filled activities and experiences for all ages.

At the Light of Knowledge event, scientists from various disciplines will be enlighten us about different fields of science and its potential. In addition to information and perspectives, you can explore services and applications related to smart city development. Come and find out how these solutions streamline your daily life!

Nordic Drone Event 2020

The Nordic Drone Event 2020 is a conference that gathers participants internationally to Tampere, Finland on 27-28 January 2020 to accelerate use of drones and electrical aircraft in order to protect the environment and to improve worksite efficiency and productivity.

The event will be hosted by Tampere University of Applied Sciences together with RPAS Finland, UAS Norway, UAS Denmark, Arctic Drone Labs, VTT, FIMA Forum for Intelligent Machines and Business Tampere.

International Conference & Business Expo

An important goal of the week is to strengthen collaboration between businesses, universities, research institutes and cities, enabling the emergence of new internationally scalable smart city solutions, newest technologies and business models.

SMART CITY MINDTREK 2020 is an event that creates innovation, strengthens and supports development. It’s all about networking and exchanging ideas with people who come from different backgrounds and who have different areas of expertise.

Tampere is a fruitful innovation platform for companies. The city wants to make sure that the mobility and construction are intelligently executed. A smart tram, a unique Deck and a multi-purpose arena, underground parking, tunnels and other logistical structures create an energetic urban environment.

Success Stories and Development Challenges of Carbon Neutral and Energy-efficient Mobility, Building and Energy from Finnish Lighthouse Projects

Welcome to learn from Finnish Cities’ experiences in developing Smart and Sustainable solutions for mobility, energy and buildings in a one-day workshop on replication. The workshop is open to all and free of charge.

The workshop is organised by EU funded projects STARDUST, IRIS, MatchUP, Making-City and mySMARTLife.

Pirkanmaa has a strong industrial tradition and so far it has been a competitive operating environment. The aim of this event is to highlight the history of manufacturing industry in the Pirkanmaa region, and to bring forward and discuss important themes for competitiveness from different perspectives. How can we ensure a competitive operating environment in the future? How do the manufacturing industry, business and culture in Pirkanmaa intertwine?

The event is a joint production between Tampere Chamber of Commerce, Business Tampere and City of Tampere, and it is a continuation to last year’s Investor & Business Forum Tampere event.
