You can play an adventure game about climate change in Tampere

A Tampere version of the My2050 mobile game on climate change has been released. My2050 provides both fun entertainment and information on climate change.

My2050 is a free adventure game where players will take an hour to explore the beaches of Tammerkoski river and Näsinpuisto Park in the City Center and discover the story of 20th-century YouTuber Niha Bee. At the same time, they collect points by solving tasks.

“We’re aiming for a change that will make the city carbon-neutral by 2030 at the latest. With the adventure game, we will share information on climate change in a fun way for all ages,” says Laura Inha, Development Manager at City of Tampere.

The My2050 is suitable for groups of friends or work, for families and travelers, or for teaching purposes from the age of 12 to the adult. You can play in Finnish or English using the mobile application, regardless of the time of day.

“The game offers residents and visitors a community experience that encourages them to change their own ways to be more climate friendly”, says Project Manager Maarit Vehviläinen from the City of Tampere.

The game version was developed as part of the Smart Tampere development program and the STARDUST project.

Previously, customized versions of My2050 have been released for Helsinki and Espoo. The game was made by Visia GameFactory.
